👟 Walk Day – September 26th

We warmly invite families to join us for our Terry Fox Walk on Friday, September 26th, right after our Welcome Back Assembly in the gym. We’ll celebrate the start of a new school year, hear a short presentation about Terry’s legacy, and then head out for our walk together. Our goal is to get started at 1:15 once we can al get into the gym. 😊

We’ve updated our route this year to ensure safety and accessibility for all students. A map will be shared closer to the date.

If you’re joining us:

• Please stay with your child’s class during the walk. The classroom buddies will be walking together to ensure that students are safe on our journey. 
• Wear red and white or Canadian gear to show your spirit!
• Help us cheer on our students as they walk with purpose and pride

🎟️ Spirit & Stickers

Each student will receive an “I am walking for…” sticker to wear prior to the day. These can be filled out at home with a name or cause that’s meaningful to your family. Classes will also receive Terry Fox tattoos—a fun way to show support!

📚 Learning About Terry

In the lead-up to the walk, students will be learning about Terry Fox through classroom activities and library displays. We’ll also be reading the new Terry Fox book during our assembly, so students can hear his story in a powerful and engaging way.

TES is excited to announce the 17th annual “TES Store of Giving”! This beloved tradition will take place in the gym at T.E.S. and gives every student the chance to experience the joy of giving by shopping for family members.

Event Details

• Shopping Day:
  • Friday, December 5th, 2025
    (except for K01 and K03, who will shop Thursday, December 4th)
• Cost: All items will cost $0.25 each, and each child may purchase up to 10 items ($2.50).
  • Please send quarters only in a ziplock bag labeled with your child’s name.
• Bag: Each student should bring a large reusable cloth grocery bag to carry their gifts home. These work best because they don’t rip like gift bags—we’d hate for any special gifts to be lost!
• Festive Fun: Students are invited to wear a festive hat to celebrate this special day.

Please note: Students will shop during their scheduled class time. We kindly ask for your understanding that we cannot make special exceptions for students to shop at different times due to absences.

We Need Your Help!

We are graciously accepting donations of clean, gently used items that can be used as gifts for all family members. Collection will take place Monday, December 1st through Thursday morning, December 4th so volunteers can set up Thursday afternoon.

Donation Guidelines:

• Items should be appropriate for all ages and free of explicit language or images.
• Avoid items related to alcohol advertising, knives, sharp tools, or large kitchen appliances with sharp parts.
• If sending glass items, please pack them in gift boxes for safe transport.
• Suggestions include: jewelry, craft kits, board games, unused self-care items, ornaments, home décor, etc.
• Please avoid sending broken or dirty items, and note that we often receive too many books or toys.

Proceeds from the store will go to support Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.

📢 Lost and Found Reminder

Our Lost and Found is packed full and will be cleared out at the end of this week. There are numerous items of clothing that have not been claimed for several months.

✅ What happens next?
Unclaimed items will be donated to the Salvation Army or placed in our extra clothing room for student use.

✅ How you can help:
Please check the Lost and Found before Friday and remind your child to look for any missing items.

We appreciate families labeling clothing with your child’s name—this makes it much easier to return items quickly.

On Nov. 27^th, 2024, the Ministry of Education announced the development of a new Saskatchewan Student Assessment (SSA) program. More detailed information about the program is attached to this communication.

In the spring of 2026, NESD students in Grade 5 Math, Grade 9 Math, and Gr. 7 ELA will participate in a census field test.  A census field test is a province-wide trial run of the assessment procedures and questions.  No assessment results from the census field test will be provided to students, families, or school divisions as the purpose is to test the test only.

Additional information and updates about the SSA program and the field test will be provided as it becomes available.

📢 Lost and Found Reminder

Our Lost and Found is packed full and will be cleared out at the end of this week. There are numerous items of clothing that have not been claimed for several months.

✅ What happens next?
Unclaimed items will be donated to the Salvation Army or placed in our extra clothing room for student use.

✅ How you can help:
Please check the Lost and Found before Friday and remind your child to look for any missing items.

We appreciate families labeling clothing with your child’s name—this makes it much easier to return items quickly.

On Nov. 27^th, 2024, the Ministry of Education announced the development of a new Saskatchewan Student Assessment (SSA) program. More detailed information about the program is attached to this communication.

In the spring of 2026, NESD students in Grade 5 Math, Grade 9 Math, and Gr. 7 ELA will participate in a census field test.  A census field test is a province-wide trial run of the assessment procedures and questions.  No assessment results from the census field test will be provided to students, families, or school divisions as the purpose is to test the test only.

Additional information and updates about the SSA program and the field test will be provided as it becomes available.
