If you or someone you know has a child who will be 5 years of age before December 31, 2022, they are eligible to start

Kindergarten this fall.

Saskatchewan's Prekindergarten programs admit children based on eligibility criteria. It is important to share as much information about your child's growth and development as possible.

The Prekindergarten Program is for 3 & 4 year old's and runs Monday through Friday, September through June,  9:00-11:30 AM at TES. There are 16 spots available in the class each year.  (Children must be 3 or 4 years of age by Dec. 31, 2022.)

Parents are asked to fill out the Pre K Screening Tool on the Tisdale Elementary School webpage https://tes.nesd.ca/

Once application forms have been received and assessed, families will be contacted by the school division in June 2022 if their child qualifies.

Submitting this screening tool does not guarantee your child's enrollment in the program.

Please register as soon as possible as this helps with planning for next year.

 New School in Carrot River

   DETAILS: 

• Expected opening date is February 2024. 
• The total size of the new school will be approximately 5,330 square meters on the site of the existing Carrot River Junior Senior High School.
• The Ministry of Education of the Province of Saskatchewan will provide funding for approximately 4,300 square meters.
• The North East School Division and the community of Carrot River are extremely thankful to the donor that provided funding to increase the size of the school by 200 square meters to allow for the addition of a welding lab and also increase the size of the performing arts/small gym.
• With the exception of the gym, the Carrot River Junior Senior High School will be demolished. The gym was built in 2005 and will be part of the new school.
• The new school will be a kindergarten to grade 12 school, replacing the Carrot River Elementary School and the Carrot River Junior Senior High School.
• The Carrot River Elementary School and the Carrot River Junior Senior High School will both be operating during construction until the new school has been completed.

When planning the washroom space for the new Carrot River school, the NESD followed best practice in universal washrooms design.  The single-user (full door), multi-stall, and open sink space design ensures students have privacy concerns met while supporting supervision of the open the sink area.  This design has been utilized for both the elementary and high school washrooms. 

At the May 17, 2022 NESD Regular Board meeting the Gronlid Boundary Change report was approved by the NESD Board of Education.

Please join the Gronlid Central School

in a community celebration on

Saturday, June 18th from 6:30pm – 10:00pm

The village of Gronlid was established in 1925 with the railroad and post office arriving in 1927.  The first school opened in 1929 and was in the community hall.  In 1930 a two-room schoolhouse was built with the addition of another school building in 1953.  The current building, Gronlid Central School was constructed in 1958-59 with an addition in 1960, 1963 and 1966. The kindergarten to grade 12 school eventually transitioned to host grades K-8 with a recent focus on land-based learning.  

This last year, the School Community and Staff have focused on celebrating their successes throughout their time at Gronlid Central School.  

We wish the students and staff success as they transition into new schools as they carry the spirit of Gronlid Central into new environments. 

The Gronlid School Community Council and the North East School Division are working to commemorate the mementos and pictures from Gronlid School.
