It is hard to believe that summer is flying by so fast, and we are preparing for our annual welcome back BBQ and back pack drop off that will be on August 29th!

To help us prepare for this event, we would greatly appreciate if families could pre register for hot dogs in advance if plan to attend so we ensure we have enough. Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are committed to fostering a focused and engaging learning environment for all our students. To help achieve this, we encourage students to leave their personal devices at home. If devices are brought to school, they will be kept safely in the students' lockers to prevent any loss or damage.

Additionally, for those with long bus rides, we recommend bringing books, puzzles, or other non-digital items to help pass the time. Please note that all classrooms are equipped with phones, and students can always ask their teacher to call home if needed.

We appreciate your support in discussing these guidelines with your child to help us maintain a positive and productive school atmosphere.

Families, we are so excited to welcome our students back to school on September 3rd! It was so great to see so many of you at our Supply Drop Off Night and Welcome Back Bar B Q! Those that were unable to attend, we are looking forward to meeting you soon!!!

Our staff has been working tirelessly to prepare for the start of school and can't wait to see all of our students again!

Just a friendly reminder that there is a staggered start for pre k, k, and grade one students, with the first bell ringing at 8:50.

To ensure everyone's safety, please do not drop off students before 8:40 when our supervisors are out, and use the designated crosswalks. Also, please remember that our exterior doors are locked during the school day. If any student has trouble getting in, they can go to the front door and press the button for assistance.

We want to make sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe at school so please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Stay updated through Edsby, our website, and Facebook page for important information leading up to the first day of school. We can't wait to see you all very soon!

We are excited about our upcoming Terry Fox Day and appreciate your support in our fundraising efforts!

In-Person Donation Days:
Tuesday, September 17th: Donate $2 to wear pajamas.
Thursday, September 19th: Donate $2 to wear a hat.

Please send your donations with your child on these days. We will collect the money at school and appreciate your contribution!

We are hoping to see families and community out at our annual Terry Fox Walk on Friday, September 20th!

As our students will be leaving school grounds for this walk, please be sure to contact your child's teacher if you have any concerns or if there are considerations that need to be taken into account prior to our walk. 

We are hopeful the weather will hold out for us. Please dress with layers and proper footwear!

We will be joining together in our gym at 1:10 for a short assembly then we will head out for our walk.

We thank everyone in advance for their support of Toonies for Terry this week, the kids did amazing!!! We will be giving our total that we have raised so far at the assembly!!!

To show our Canadian Pride we are celebrating red and white spirit day and also encourage our visitors, students and staff to participate!

We wanted to inform you that our school will be recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Day on Friday, September 27th. To show our support for this important day, we will be walking together in the community from 11:00 - 12:00. We encourage everyone to wear their orange shirts on this day as a symbol of solidarity.If there are any families that feel their child is not able to paritipcate in this walk for any reason please ensure you reach out to your child's teacher in advance. 

In the afternoon, we will have a local drummer and singer perform for our students out on the playground. We believe that music and art are powerful tools for learning and healing, so we are excited to provide this experience for our students.

We will end the day with a friendship dance, promoting unity and understanding among all of our students.

This week, leading up to Truth and Reconciliation Day, teachers have been incorporating discussions about Indigenous history and culture into their lesson plans, we have been tying orange ribbons on our fence and have particpated in a story walk in front of our school. 

Thank you for your support in recognizing this important day at our school. We believe it is crucial to educate our students about the importance of reconciliation and understanding Indigenous perspectives.

A freiendly reminder there is no school on Monday September 30th. We will resume on  October 1st.
